Artist bio & statement

I am a multidisciplinary artist and designer born in Russia, trained across Russia, Singapore, and Spain. My background combines classical artistic education, studies in design and engineering-related disciplines, and a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts from LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, validated by Goldsmiths, University of London.
A life spent moving — between countries, cultures, and contexts — has shaped both my visual language and my way of thinking. Rather than belonging to a single tradition, I work across sculpture, textiles, mixed media, and spatial practice, bringing materials and methods into unexpected conversation with each other.
My work explores contradiction — the space where softness meets violence, beauty coexists with discomfort, and fragile materials carry emotional weight. I am drawn to transforming familiar or threatening symbols into tactile, intimate objects that invite a different kind of attention.
Nature runs through my practice as a constant — flowers, birds, insects, organic structures — not as decoration, but as a language of vulnerability, resilience, and memory. I return to these forms because they hold complexity without losing warmth.
I often work intuitively, combining textiles, embroidery, sculpture, and mixed media to create tension between appearance and meaning. A weapon becomes a delicate fabric object covered in floral ornament. A hard form is softened until it asks to be touched. What interests me is not conflict itself, but what lies on the other side of it — tenderness, hope, and the quiet persistence of the human.
